An den Kohlenrutschen, named in 2008 after the former coal conveyor systems in the area of the Nordbahnhof. The Kaiser Ferdinands-Nordbahn procured its coal for the station from, among other places, the Ostrau coalfield. Even after the Second World War, coal yards and coal chutes existed between or alongside the railway embankments at the Nordbahnhof, from where coal merchants supplied households with coal for heating. The alley is located in the Nordbahnviertel.

After photographing An den alten Schanzen on April 11th 2025, I felt energized and still had enough film material with me, so I decided to make a pitstop at An den Kohlenrutschen to take photos there, too. I was initially a bit disappointed by the weather change and feared that the photos might turn out a bit too colorless, but I love how the pictures turned out.
