Ampèregasse (Jedlesee), named in 1952 after the French physicist and mathematician André-Marie Ampère.

André-Marie Ampère (January 20, 1775 in Lyon, France – June 10, 1836 in Marseille) was a French physicist and mathematician. He was the outstanding experimentalist and theorist of early electrodynamics. Ampère defined the concepts of electrical voltage and electric current and established the direction of current. The SI unit of electric current and the SI unit of magnetic flux were named after him in 1893.

Part of the Jedleseer Straße residential complex is located on Ampèregasse. The development boasts an extremely rich artistic design consisting of ceramics, tiles, reliefs, sgraffito, mosaics, and enamel work with figural, ornamental, or animal depictions. These are installed at almost every stairwell and also serve as a visual guidance system.

I went to Ampéregasse on May 20th 2024 after I had photographed "Am oberen Kirchberg". The light was really beautiful, but I felt slightly uninspired by the street. I was probably already tired from the long bike ride.
