Amongasse (Aspern), named in 1952 after the actor Anton Amon (1862–1931). Anton Amon, son of the director of the Singspielhalle Anton Amon, was a member of the folk singers’ guild for several years, but went to the theater in 1886. He first appeared on stage in Iglau, then was engaged in Bad Hall, Troppau, Karlsbad, at the German Theater and Pest, where he played his first roles until he joined the Deutsches Volkstheater. He stayed there until at least 1902. There is a gap in his CV between 1902 and 1925, and it was not until 1925 that he reappeared as a silent film actor. He lived for a time as a traveling actor, giving guest performances in Hungarian cities. His star roles were Valentin in Raimunds Verschwender and Steinklopferhannes in Anzengruber’s Kreuzelschreibern. He died in 1931. He was buried in an honorary grave at Vienna’s Central Cemetery.

In addition to his acting work, he was also a successful landscape painter.

14km bike ride (one direction) for 120m to photograph. Still, I enjoyed the exercise on that day (July 8th 2024). I was a bit gloomy and emotional, had the single blues and tried to focus on positive things, like this project.
