Am Rosenhügel (Hetzendorf), named in 1922 after the 258 m high, nearby Rosenhügel (Rosenhügel), it belongs to the northeastern hills of the Vienna Woods and is thus part of the Northern Limestone Alps. The Rosenhügel takes its name from extensive rose plantations that once existed on this site. Am Rosenhügel is the name of the intersection of Atzgersdorfer Straße with Rosenhügelstraße, Wundtgasse, and Riedelgasse on the border between the 12th, 13th, and 23rd districts.

The Am Rosenhügel cooperative housing complex, with its 559 apartments, is one of the largest of its kind in Red Vienna. An interesting experiment was conducted during the construction of the housing estate: To ensure the greatest possible commitment from all participants, the settlers were not assigned a specific plot during the construction period; the allocation of the finished houses was ultimately done by drawing lots.

After visiting Am Rosenberg, I also went to Am Rosenhügel as it is very close. I really love some of the pictures I took there. While waiting for the bus the first election results came in and I remember the shock and terror of seeing almost 30% of votes going to a right wing party.
