Am Platz (Hietzing), named in 1894 after the Sunday gathering place in front of the Maria Hietzing parish church, “Mariä Hietzing,” which had been a custom since the Middle Ages. The square was originally called St. Marienplatz after the Marian column erected in front of the church, and then, until 1894, like the corresponding squares in other incorporated suburbs, Kirchenplatz.

A close friend accompanied me to "Am Platz" and after taking photos we walked through Schönbrunn park, which is right next to the square, up to Gloriette. We had ice cream and talked for quite a while.
