Am Hundsturm, named in 1923 after the municipality of Hundsturm, which became independent in 1849/1850 and was first mentioned in documents in 1632. In 1600, Archduke Matthias, the later emperor, had a house for hunting dogs built in the area. The name Hundsturm may come from this doghouse. However, it is more likely that it goes back to the former “Hundsmühle”, which was first documented in 1408 as Hunczmühle in Scheibenried. The alley was formerly called Schloßgasse or Schloßplatz after Hundsturm Castle (built in 1672, demolished in 1885). The official name Hundst(h)urmplatz or Hundst(h)urmer Platz was in use from 1886 to 1923.

I went to "Am Hundsturm" twice. The first time on November 11th, but I was so confused that day due to a bad start (we only had cold water in the morning and we weren't told beforehand), so I forgot to take more than one roll of film with me. I finally returned with another roll on December 18th 2023 and shot another roll of film. I visited Michael at the revolog shop afterwards, it was only 3 days before he moved it to another location. Felt strange to leave that big part of my past behind.
