Am Fuchsenfeld (Meidling, Fuchsenfeldhof residential complex), named in 1925 after a field name. The name goes back to Michael Fuchs, who immigrated to Vienna from the Palatinate and opened the Gasthaus Zum Fuchsen here in 1852. The surrounding meadows were called Fuchsenfeld.

 

 

June 20th 2023 was a very warm summer day and I biked to Am Fuchsenfeld after a long, nice call with my Mom. I wanted to stop by at Bruno-Kreisky-Park afterwards to read a bit, but all the nice spaces in the park were occupied so I decided to go home and cook something good instead.
