Altgasse (Hietzing). The date of the naming is unknown, but the Altgasse is included in the first Lehmann edition (“Wiener Addressbuchs – Lehmanns Wohnungsanzeiger”) from 1859. Named after the oldest part of the town of Hietzing, which was independent until 1890. The oldest estates were in the Altgasse area, to the north (towards the Wien river) were cattle pastures, to the south were a few fields and extensive vineyards.
