Aichbühelgasse (Hacking) was named in 1961 after the official Johann Carl Aichbühel (1598–1658). Aichbühel was court chamber secretary, regimental councilor (1654–1657), professor of poetics and eloquence at the University of Vienna and its rector (1649). In 1652 he was appointed Knight of Aichbühel. Around 1654 Aichbühel is attested as the owner of the Hacking estate; the Aichbühelhof in Grinzing may also have been in his possession.
His family died out around 1770.
Before 1961, another alley in the 13th district was called Aichbühelgasse; this is now part of Lilienberggasse.
